Patients

We are conducting a research study that you may be eligible for participation. The objective of the study is to develop an improved diagnostic method, based on genetic information, for patients with Primary Immune Disease.

If successful, the test will enable earlier detection of primary immune disease and enable patients to access medicines and therapies that improve quality of life.

Participants will be recruited from the Royal Melbourne and Royal Children’s Hospitals Hospital. You would be required to attend a clinic to complete a questionnaire and if eligible, donate two tissue samples; 1) whole blood and 2) a cheek swab.

Healthy Controls

We are conducting a research study that is currently seeking normal healthy controls. The research is investigating whether it is possible to develop improved diagnostic methods, based on genetic information, for patients with Primary Immune Disease. Patients with this rare, life threatening disease have a defective immune system and are unable to defend themselves from common bacteria and viruses, leading to severe and repeated infections. Once a patient is diagnosed, there are good medical treatment options available that significantly improve quality of life.

Participants will be recruited from the Royal Melbourne and Royal Children’s Hospitals Hospital. You would be required to attend a clinic to complete a questionnaire and if eligible, donate two tissue samples; 1) whole blood and 2) a cheek swab.
